What Building a D2C Fashion Brand in India Has Taught Me

People often see the beautiful side of Khushnuma—the collections, campaigns, festive launches, and perfectly packed orders.

What they don't see is the other side.

As a founder, I've learned that designing clothes is often the easiest part. The real challenge begins after someone clicks "Place Order."

Finding reliable logistics partners across India, delayed pickups, parcels travelling thousands of kilometres, damaged shipments, incorrect tracking updates, COD reconciliation, and ensuring every customer receives their order on time—these are the realities that every growing D2C brand quietly battles.

There are days when a courier partner delays a shipment, and even though it isn't our mistake, it becomes our responsibility. We answer every message, follow up on every parcel, and hope every outfit reaches its new home safely.

Yet, despite the challenges, I wouldn't trade this journey for anything.

Because every time a customer shares a photo in a Khushnuma outfit, every late-night call with a logistics partner, every problem solved, and every happy review reminds me why this brand exists.

Building a fashion label isn't just about creating beautiful clothes.

It's about earning trust—one order, one conversation, and one delivery at a time.

Thank you for choosing patience over perfection and for supporting a homegrown Indian brand with every order.
